Ao Luek Community

Ao Luek Community

Ao Luek Community is a cultural melting pot of Thai, Hokkien Chinese and Muslim cultures since around the 14th century. It was also a major rest point for Portuguese sailors who introduced the locals to violin during the colonial period. Today, some Krabi locals still pass on the intermixed art of Asian hymn and European instrument. What makes Ao Luek special is that its peaceful beach is open almost all year round, as it's located at the innermost part of the bay and not much affected by the monsoon season.
