Thonburi was the capital city of Siam. Along this serene Thonburi canal, Kudi-Chin is the old community hidden just near the Temple of Dawn. Both places are the icon of Thonburi, and we will give them (and many more places) a visit! I am also a history teacher, so you will be getting some cool insights about this local community and the past of Thailand :)
Meet up at BTS Station (Saphan Taksin)
We will take a boat ride from the Sathorn Pier to the Sapan Put Pier. After that, we will start exploring Kudi-Chin community by walking across Puttayodfa or Memorial Bridge. (You will see the beautiful scene of Thonburi on this bridge.)
Arrive at Kudi-Chin Community and visit Santa Cruz Church and the community around here as well as the local museum where you can discover the history of this place.
Visit Chinese Shrine (The Goddess of Mercy); You can see and learn the Chinese art and culture from here.
Have lunch in the area of Santa Cruz Church (You can try some kind of traditional food of Kudi-Chin community in this area.) The coffee shop here is also nice, if you'd love to give it a try!
Visit Wat Gallaya, where you'll see the mixture of Thai and Chinese Art culture
Walk to the Muslim community where you can find the mosque in a traditional Thai style (I promise that hardly anyone will have seen this before)
Visit Wat Hong Rattanaram, the hidden and peaceful temple of Thonburi built since 16th century.
Visit the Temple of Dawn. Here, you will see the colorful side of traditional architectures and the great main Prang which is the landmark.
Return to the Sathorn Pier by taking Chao Phraya Express Boat at Wat Arun Pier and enjoy Bangkok view along the route.
Arrive at Sathorn Pier and end our nice trip at this point. I hope you've had an amazing day!

Thonburi is the fascinating part of Bangkok. My trip will not only show you our traditional culture from temple visits, but I will also give you endless insight about Thai people's way of life by taking you to the old community of at Kudi-Chin and taste the authentic Thai dessert from here. As I'm a teacher and a historian, I love to share what I know. So, feel free to ask me anything!
