Caring the Elephants and Lazy Man Coffee

★★★★★★★★★★

REAL Thai/Karen Experience

This is hands down worth every single penny. Most of the day was spent hanging out with the elephants, taking them on a walk through the jungle, feeding them, and swimming with them. You can really get a sense of the affection the Karen people have towards the elephants and vice versa. Our guide, "Spider-Man", was extremely knowledgeable about each elephant and was able to answer any and all questions the group had. After hanging out with the elephants we headed to Lazy Man coffee, where Lazy Man himself explained all the steps in making his organic coffee grown right on his own farm. Then Soe took me on a tour of the local Karen village and explained the daily lives of her people. This was an extremely rewarding experience and very insightful. If you are looking for a real cultural experience that you won't find at the tour guides in Chiang Mai, this is it.

Caring the Elephants and Lazy Man Coffee

★★★★★★★★★★

A Fantastic Experience

We did a lot of looking around for a elephant sanctuary that didn't involve riding, bullhooks, elephant tricks, etc and were very pleased to have found Doi Inthanon Elephant House! It was exactly as advertised, we saw no cruelty to the elephants, they weren't tethered and seemed genuinely happy! Worth every cent!

The location is a little further away than they advertise (2.5 hours per direction with no traffic) but again, worth the trip and distance!
