We really enjoyed this trip. We were emailed before by the guide, PD, to introduce herself and ask about any dietary requirements etc. We were collected perfectly on time and told a bit about the waterfall on the drive. It was quite a long drive (1h15m from our hotel in the old town), but well worth it, and it gave us a chance to see some of the norther Thailand countryside beyond Chiang Mai. On arriving, PD showed us how to climb up and down the waterfalls. This was scary at first, but we quickly became more confident in climbing. After taking us up and down once, PD gave us an hour alone to explore ourselves. While with us, she took some great pictures of us climbing and sent them to us over lunch - it was like having a personal photographer as well as a guide! At the end of the tour, she took us to see the source of the waterfall, which was beautiful, and then took us for lunch very close by, where we were able to choose and try several dishes, fruit and a smoothie each. There was so much food that we couldn't finish it all, so PD had the rest packaged up for us to take back. She even gave us some Thai rice cakes to take back with us! All in all, a great tour, really fun place and made extra good by an excellent guide. Would recommend.

We started the day with a trip to elephant sanctuary. It was an amazing experience to see such wonderful, clever animals in the surrounding they feel comfortable! There was no signs of any cruelty or abusement, which I was very sensitive about. Elephants looked happy and well-cared. After a small lecture about this animals, observing them, mud rubbing, tiny lake bathing, preparing vitamin balls etc we had a delicious, vegetarian lunch. The second part of the day was dedicated to meet the people from the Karen tribe. This experience was ambivalent. The village is rather one big market runned by the locals. There is barely no possibility to really meet and talk to the inhabitants. You can make some photos and have a small talk basically only when buying souvenirs. Luckily, we managed to meet a family in their house and have a little talk. Although, our guide was great! Told us a lot about the tribe, but also about the elephants, country, culture, traditions etc and very patiently answered to lots of our questions. It was a few hours of great experience! I really recommend this tour!

It was a very good memory to play with elephants. Although the time was a little bit short for me.And thanks to Tony for driving us in the chaos traffic after the holiday.

This outing started with a long drive from Bangkok to Phetchaburi with a relaxing visit at the Phra Ram Ratchaniwet Palace. This historic site goes back to the days of King Chulalongkorn the Great (Rama V) that was built for the rainy season as retreat. Experiencing history up close and personal is like nothing you can imagine. Wat huay Mongkol was a temple with a giant Buddhist statue. It is something that a person can’t imagine. The pictures can’t do no justice. A must see for those who haven’t seen what a big statue looks like. Hua Hin Train Station is a place that connects Thai and visitors alike that was built in 1910. A place painted with beautiful colors to brighten up any person’s. Sections that are closed off specifically for the king, royalty, and common people. History up close and personal. Hua Hin public beach was nice and sunny place to visit for a short time. Amphoe Cha-am had a great sit-in Thai restaurant where we ate lunch near the beach to enjoy the ocean breeze. A stop over to the 1000 Sook Food and Farm was treat to sample different Thai snacks with many different flavors. It is great for those who have a sweet tooth. Last but not least a trip to the Amphawa floating market made this a complete trip. It had a lot of street vendors full of food, drinks and souvenirs.

Climbing the waterfalls was a wonderful experience. We were glad that PD was with us as she showed us exactly the best way to do it. She also had waterproof bags so we could bring our cameras. After the climb we had a lovely lunch and she brought us back to our hotel. Really recommended and not diffucult.

Why We Decided Not to Offer Elephant Rides

While elephant rides and animal shows are among the most popular things to do in Thailand, animal welfare is one of our priorities. Fortunately, there are many ethical alternatives and we encourage you to choose what's best for both you and animals.
