This is a trip back into the past. In Lampang, life and time seem to slow down and you'll find your peace of mind. First, we'll travel around Lampang the way the locals did a century ago. We'll sightsee the old town from a horse-drawn carriage. Then let's enjoy Lampang's legendary set menu at Ocha Watthana restaurant. In the afternoon, I'll take you to Dhanabadee Ceramic Museum, where we'll go behind the scenes of Lampang's famous handicraft and bring some home. This is a private Lampang tour from Chiang Mai.

Lampang from Chiang Mai: Ceramic Museum & Horse-Drawn Carriage

★★★★★★★★★★

Great way to see the City

Dee Dee greeted us promptly at the hotel lobby in Chiang Mai where we started of our 1 hour 45 minute journey to Lampang with Mr A as our driver. It was a comfortable journey with Dee Dee showing us the sights as we passed them.

Upon reaching Lampang, as it was a hot day, we were ambivalent at first about going on a horse drawn carriage. However, through the journey we inquired into the welfare of the horse and Dee Dee assured us that the horse loves the weather and was happy to be out and about in town. So we were relieved. Dee Dee also provided good commentary along the ride and we also stopped at Wat Phra Kaew Don Tao Sucha and Ban Saonak. The driver was amazingly skilled in handling the city traffic and this is definitely a great way to see the city.

As Dee Dee found out that I loved Yen Ta Fo, she called up to find the best Yen Ta Fo restaurant in town and arranged for a change to our lunch menu. We really appreciate her effort and was delighted with lunch for sure!

For the second part of our trip, we went to the Dhanabadee ceramic museum which was equally interesting. We took up pottery painting before heading for a private tour of the factory which was surprisingly informative. Of course, we could not go home without buying at least a little something from the gift shop!

All in all, we enjoyed the trip a lot. Thanks to Dee Dee!
